At 7:00 pm, a 9-1-1 call was received regarding a lightning strike to a 61 year old male living on Ledford Road on Flat Top Mountain. A family member stated the lightning struck the wet ground and the electrical current traveled to the metal chair the gentleman was sitting on. Hamilton County EMS responded and took the patient to Erlanger with minor burn injuries to the legs and feet.
During these unstable summer storms, we need to always be aware of our surroundings and keep informed with your local weather media outlets on the weather every day. Lighting is so unpredictable and can have severe to tragic outcomes when you least expect it.
