Hundreds of people in Perry gathered Saturday night to watch part of a town landmark crumble to the ground. The Perry Bowl is known for its bowling and burgers, but witnesses say a sinkhole caused part of the building to crumble around 7:00 Saturday.

Customers and a woman who lives in an apartment above the bowling alley were able to escape. Crews started knocking down part of the damaged structure in hopes they can stabilize what’s left. That could give residents time to clear out property before crews knock down the rest of the structure.

Perry officials say no one was injured in the incident.
